David Beckham recently opened up about how one of his daily habits impacts his family life.
During a panel for the launch of his new supplement brand, IM8, on Monday (April 7), the retired soccer star admitted that his obsessive need for organization can sometimes test his family’s patience. His meticulous habits, while beneficial in some ways, occasionally frustrate his wife, Victoria Beckham, and their four children, Brooklyn, 26, Romeo, 22, Cruz, 20, and Harper, 13.
“I’m extremely organized, to the point where it’s exhausting every single day because everything has to be just right,” Beckham shared. “It can annoy my wife at times, and it can definitely bother my kids.”
Despite occasionally irritating his family, Beckham explained that his obsessive organization helps keep things running smoothly. “Without Daddy, nothing would be tidy, nothing would be organized, and they’d forget half their things,” he quipped.
The 49-year-old former athlete has previously spoken about his struggles with obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD), which he discussed in his 2023 Netflix documentary, Beckham. In the series, he revealed how his need for perfection impacts his daily life. This compulsion was even on display at the IM8 event, where Beckham couldn’t resist rearranging a display of pyramid-stacked supplement bottles because, as he explained, it was “a little bit off.”
While his habits may sometimes be a source of frustration for his family, Beckham’s drive for order is an integral part of who he is, both at home and in his professional endeavors.
