Whyalla house fire considered suspicious by police

Police have confirmed a house fire in Whyalla earlier this week is now being considered suspicious.

Emergency crews responded to reports of a duplex fire in Bevan Crescent, just before 5:30am on Wednesday.

The fire caused significant damage to the home and an adjoining unit, before being extinguished by fire crews.

Both units were unoccupied and there were no reported injuries, with fire cause investigators determining the fire was deliberately lit after attending the scene.
