The Premier has warned that emergency services have a limited timeframe to conduct prescribed burns ahead of fire season.
Authorities are on high alert as global weather patterns El Niño and a positive Indian Ocean Dipole are set to create drier conditions in Australia.
During yesterday’s Emergency Management Cabinet Committee meeting, Premier Peter Malinauskas said the last time these weather patterns combined was in 2015 when the Pinery bushfire swept across 82,000 hectares of prime farmland north of Adelaide, destroying 470 buildings.
