Regional renters fairing better than metro

Regional rent prices appear to have moderated over the past three months according to PropTrack’s figures.

The market insight provider’s statistics reveal rental prices across the country increased 2 per cent over the June quarter with average advertised rents nearly 12 per cent higher than the previous year.

Capital cities are driving this cost, while PropTrack economist Angus Moore says rental units in regional areas have experienced an average decrease of 0.9 per cent.
