Regional health initiatives have been proposed for the 2023-24 State Budget, which will be delivered on Thursday.
Shadow Minister for Regional Health Services Penny Pratt outlined several initiatives for improved regional healthcare.
Suggestions included offering greater incentives to attract doctors and nurses to country towns, increasing the accommodation subsidy within the Patient Assistance Transport Scheme, and ensuring regional hospitals have restraint-trained security personnel.
Ms Pratt says people living regionally shouldn’t have to accept a lower standard of health care and security at regional hospitals should be non-negotiable.
