A driver and passenger were arrested for traffic offences and other outstanding matters at Nullarbor on Wednesday afternoon, 12 July.
An Eyre Highway patrol detected a white Ford sedan travelling at 170 km/h on the Eyre Highway in Bookabie around 2:50pm and notified Yalata Police.
Yalata Police then spotted the car at 3:15pm still speeding at 162 km/h.
With assistance and information from heavy vehicles in the area, police located the vehicle again at the Nullarbor Roadhouse a short time later.
Checks on the sedan revealed it had been reported stolen from New South Wales last Thursday, and the vehicle was travelling on a spare tyre recommended not to exceed 80 km/h.
The 23-year-old man was charged with two counts of dangerous speed, failure to stop, and illegal use.
The 25-year-old woman was charged with illegal use, unlawful possession and two counts of making off without payment.
They were both refused police bail and appeared in the Ceduna Magistrates Court on Thursday, 13 July.
