This National Biosecurity Week, boat users are reminded they have a responsibility to help stop the spread of marine pests and diseases.

PIRSA is reminding locals that pests can attach themselves to fishing, diving or surfing equipment, and diseases can stick around unless washed away with fresh water and detergent.

Locals need to ensure their gear is clean and dry between trips to the water.
