New trucks join Port Lincoln’s firefighting ranks

Despite recent wet weather in Port Lincoln, emergency services are still preparing for a long, dry summer.

Seven News reports a fire truck unit fitted out for grass fires will be stationed in Port Lincoln.

MFS Deputy Chief Officer Jeff Swann says they’re a big improvement.

“These are the first of this generation that have this increased water carrying capacity – up to 3,000 litres for some of the appliances,” he says.
