The South Australian government has approved a plan for a desalination plant at Billy Lights Point on the Eyre Peninsula.
The desalination plant is set to address our region’s water security issues.
Currently, our future water security is at risk as our water levels are running low in our underground aquifers.

Minister for Housing and Development Nick Champion says the government are working on a tight deadline to avoid all water restrictions and plan to deliver the alternative water supply by mid-2026.
The state government is set to invest $330 million into the plant.
