$3.6 million will go towards upgrading a traffic-heavy Port Lincoln intersection.
The Federal and State Government will jointly fund the improvements to the Porter Street, Liverpool Street and Railway Terrace intersection, including the installation of traffic signals, a dedicated right hand turn lane and improved drainage and pavement works.
In a statement, Mayor Diana Mislov says with resealing works on Liverpool and Porter Street underway, the news we’ll also receive traffic lights is just fantastic.
She said the council has worked very hard with both the State Government, including Minister Geoff Brock and Minister Tom Koutsantonis and local member Sam Telfer, to stress the need for the upgrades and they’re very grateful for the funding commitment.
