After several years under construction, four Lower Eyre Peninsula overtaking lanes are now complete and open to the public.
Road surface repairs have recently been completed on the southbound Lincoln Highway overtaking lane, with the other overtaking lanes on the highway, Western Approach Road and the Flinders Highway closed in mid-2022 due to issues with bitumen.
In a statement, Minister for Regional Roads, Geoff Brock, says he knows the local community has awaited the overtaking lanes and shown great patience as bad weather delayed the completion.
The new lanes are part of a jointly funded $51.25 million commitment to the region’s roads by the Federal and State Government.
