Three Koonibba Aboriginal School students had a blast in Adelaide, working alongside rocket scientists at Southern Launch’s headquarters.
Each student partnered with an engineer to create prototype ‘stomp’ rockets – an activity that involved deciding which fin and nose cone combination would ensure the best flight trajectory.
Students also toured the office, discovering the roles required on a launch day and seeing the varied roles available within the space industry.
This comes ahead of the 2023 STEM Aboriginal Learner Congress, where the students will host and present a workshop to over 900 Indigenous Learners.
