Road users across the Eyre Peninsula are encouraged to drive down the road toll this Fatality Free Friday.
Alarming research shows more than two thirds of drivers admit to breaking the road rules – with speeding, driving fatigued, and using a mobile phone amongst the top issues.
CEO of the Australian Road Safety Foundation Russell White says today – and every day – is the day to really think about road safety.
“Fatality Free Friday really urges local road users to embrace their personal responsibility for protecting the lives of those they share the road with – not just their own, White says.
“It’s about choosing road safety every time that they’re on the road, and being part of the bigger picture where we can all have a vision of a fatality-free future.”
