A 70-year-old New South Wales boatie was rescued off the Eyre Peninsula when his boat encountered trouble.
Emergency services were alerted to an an EPIRB activation from Flinders Island about 30 km west of Elliston around 2:20am on Friday.
A Challenger 604 aircraft was deployed from Perth to attend the area while police and paramedics left in PolAir from Adelaide.

Both PolAir and the Challenger arrived at the scene around 6.30am and a paramedic was winched down to the vessel to bring the patient back up to the helicopter.
The patient was flown to the Port Lincoln Hospital for treatment.
