The Footy Facilities Grant is now open for its second round of funding.
In Round One, $2 million was delivered for 42 projects – including 14 in the regions.
One organisation to benefit was Tumby Bay Football Club, which completed an oval lighting project.
Project coordinator Josh Cave says the club is already benefitting.
“The SA Football Facilities Fund grant project of replacing our lights with LEDs has meant a huge amount to our club, it has improved the training environment for our players and we are getting more numbers out to training as a direct result of the new improved lights, Mr Cave says.
“Plans are well underway for season 2025 to play our first night match for premiership points in 10 years under the upgraded LED lights, and this is when we really think we will see the full playing and spectator benefits from our project.”
Round Two has a pool of $3.4 million available, which the State Government, SANFL, and AFL have earmarked for priority projects like changerooms, lighting and turf upgrades.
