Southern Launch has received national recognition at the 2024 Australian Space Awards.
The team was awarded the ‘Diversity Initiative Program of the Year Award’ with their partners, the Koonibba Community Aboriginal Corporation.
The company’s Chief Operating Officer Rebecca Darcey was also named ‘Female Space Leader of the Year’ for her work establishing the permanent launch site in Koonibba and leading the team.

Two team members were also finalists for awards – CEO Lloyd Damp for ‘Executive of the Year’, and Launch Engineer Naida Rasheed for ‘Graduate of the Year’.
