Young women reshape the agriculture industry

Westpac data shows a 42 per cent increase in young women joining South Australia’s agriculture industry in the past 15 years.

Regional General Manager for Westpac Agribusiness Peta Ward says older South Australians have played a big role in supporting the change.

“I think we went through a generation where it probably wasn’t as encouraged as what it is now, I think it was probably a little bit discouraged, Ms Ward says.

“Now we’re seeing the tide change and we’re seeing these young people actively engage.”
