Landscape Board issues water permit reminder

Local contractors are being reminded that works in watercourses or wetlands require a Water Affecting Activity permit.

Water affecting activities are works that can impact on the health and condition of water resources, water dependant ecosystems and other water users.

Some works that require a permit include constructing dams or structures that divert water, destroying vegetation in a watercourse, and draining or discharging water or wastewater into a body of water.

The Eyre Peninsula Landscape Board say water resources on the EP are precious and need to be managed sustainably.

The Landscape Board are putting together information packs.
