The next phase of the Port Lincoln Foreshore Project is underway.
The Andrew Small playground has been dismantled to make way for the Foreshore Activity Zone – a half basketball and netball court that aims to encourage social interaction.
Port Lincoln Council partnered with Rotary Club of Port Lincoln prior to dismantling the playground to send the Tuna Boat play equipment to a developing nation through the Rotary Overseas Relocated Playgrounds Project.
Port Lincoln Mayor Diana Mislov says council is proud to be part of such a wonderful and thoughtful initiative.
“Not only will this project keep our old play equipment out of landfill, but will provide many years of enjoyment to children overseas,” she says.
The remaining equipment will be refurbished and relocated to Port Lincoln’s Nelson Square.
