Police are searching for a third person involved in a break-in at Coffin Bay in the early hours of Monday morning, 10 July.

Police were patrolling the area when an alarm activated at a supermarket on the Esplanade just before 2am.

When patrols responded, they witnessed a white Mazda ute with three occupants flee the scene.

Police pursued the vehicle until it was successfully spiked on Hyde Road as it headed towards Port Lincoln.

The vehicle continued for a short distance before the three suspects abandoned the car and fled into the Port Lincoln golf course where officers apprehended two suspects.

The two Port Lincoln men – a 27-year-old and an 18-year-old – were arrested and charged with multiple offences, including aggravated serious criminal trespass and theft.

The Mazda ute used in the robbery was reported stolen from a Port Lincoln address the night before, and a large quantity of stolen property including cigarettes and alcohol stolen during the break-in was recovered from the vehicle.

The apprehended offenders were refused police bail and appeared in the Port Lincoln Magistrates Court yesterday.
