A merger is on the horizon for Viterra.
The Canadian-owned company is joining forces with US company Bunge to create one of the world’s largest agri-trade corporations, worth an estimated $34 billion.
Viterra is currently the largest grain exporter in the state, with several sites across the EP, including Port Lincoln, Wudinna and Tumby Bay.

The immediate impact on local producers is expected to be minimal; however, Viterra will begin operating under the Bunge brand from next year.
